At the age of 23, I joined the United States Marine Corps, serving with the 6th Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment.
I entered the military with one purpose:
To protect my country and protect those who could not protect themselves.
During my service, I was deployed to Iraq and experienced many dangerous missions.
To many people, I was a soldier and a protector.
But every battle leaves behind scars.
In 2006, I was wounded during a mission, and my military career came to an end.
Leaving the Marine Corps meant leaving behind the identity and purpose I had known for years.
Then, in 2010, I lost my wife in a tragic accident.
With two children depending on me, I had to find the strength to move forward.
I realized my mission had changed.
I was no longer protecting people on the battlefield.
I was protecting my family.
One day, as I watched the breeze move through the garden,
I heard the gentle sound of bells softly chiming.
The sound was clear and soothing,
as if reminding us, in the middle of a busy life,
to pause and enjoy a moment of peace.
It also reminded me that
what truly touches people is never just the decoration itself,
but the atmosphere, blessings, and companionship it brings.
That moment inspired me to create this
vintage two-tier metal wind chime.
